Darren along with his family have lived locally in Division 11 for over 25 years and he has resided in the Moreton Bay Region his entire life.
Darren began his working life in the hospitality field as a baker and later moved into the economic and taxation fields working as a director for a leading Australian taxation firm.
In 2007 Darren started a successful family run small business. The Business employed over 50 local staff across three store locations within the Moreton Bay Region.
As well as winning many industry awards Darren was named the Qld Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008.
Darren was elected to the Queensland Parliament in March 2012 and served on the Transport, Housing & Local Government Committee, responsible for the oversight of Local Councils in Queensland.
In 2016 Darren was successful in his election to Council and has served as the Division 11 Councillor for the past eight years. He has served on numerous Portfolio based committees and has recently accepted the role of Portfolio Councillor for Infrastructure and Transport, as well as being unanimously elected as a member on Council’s Audit Committee.
Darren is also a Director of Pine Rivers Community Finance (Community Bank Samford), a life member of one of the regions sporting clubs, as well as a patron and honorary member at multiple local community associations.
