Subject : MBRC Tourism is BOOMING
“Exciting news!
The Moreton Bay Region is experiencing incredible growth and is becoming a top destination for domestic day-trippers and VFR. In the FY June 2022, we welcomed over 3.5 million visitors who spent an impressive $548 million. However, we want to do better. Currently, less than 25% of our visitors stay overnight, and our visitor spend and length of stay is below the Brisbane tourism region average.
To make sure we’re ready for the 2032 Games, we need to work together more closely and collaboratively. Our focus should be on value over volume – we want to extend visitors’ stays, drive demand into off-peak periods, and offer a wider range of reasons to visit. Let’s work towards making the Moreton Bay Region the ultimate tourist destination!”
You’re invited to join us for breakfast to learn more about how we plan to take the Moreton Bay Region’s tourism industry to the next level. Our two esteemed presenters, Luke Richter-Steers, Head of Marketing, and Oriana Wyrozebska, GM of Tourism & Investment, will be sharing valuable insights on the following topics:
- Growing sustainably: Get an overview of Moreton Bay Region’s first-ever Destination Management Plan (DMP), a five-year plan that outlines how we’ll ensure the tourism sector’s long-term viability
- Boosting visibility: Discover how we will increase awareness and visibility of the region’s identity.
