What does the USC Moreton Bay university campus in Petrie mean for local business?

Professor Joanne Scott:

Soon to open:the new MB University. This huge infrastructure change in the area will open a variety of opportunities with the new uni opening in March 2020. The subjects could include increased business opportunities within the region, improved transportation links, potential real estate boom with over 100 lecturers etc moving from other states, IT Hub & industry similar to Monash Uni and a whole lot more.

Professor Joanne Scott is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Engagement) at USC. She joined USC in 1997 as an Associate Lecturer in Australian Studies. Her roles have included the inaugural Head of the School of Social Sciences (2006-2010), Chair of USC’s Learning and Teaching Committee (2007-2012) and the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Business and Law (2012-2017). Joanne has published widely on Queensland and Australian history. Her current role at USC focuses on community engagement and partnerships. She also chairs USC’s Equity and Diversity Committee.

The Samford & Districts Chamber of Commerce meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The venue for the breakfast is The Flying Nun Café in Station Street Samford. In addition to a guest speaker, the breakfast offers a “wake-up” complimentary coffee at 6.45am, followed at 7.00am by a legendary cooked breakfast and a selection of fruit and pastries for just $27.50 per head for members, and $30 per head for guests and visitors. The meeting concludes at 8.30am.
