2020 BUSINESS XMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION JUST GOT BIGGER & BETTER

26 Oct 2020

The Samford & Districts Chamber of Commerce is calling upon the Samford Business Community to again support the Chamber’s annual Samford Valley 2020 Christmas Lights Competition.

Business owners are encouraged to dig out and dust off their lights (electric & solar) for a bigger and better Christmas 2020 competition in conjunction with the Chambers successful ongoing BUY LOCAL campaign.

2020 will also see 2018 & 2019 sponsor Elders Insurance North Lakes being joined for 2020 by Samford Grove Retirement Village in co-sponsoring the 2 categories of $500 prizemoney to be awarded to each winner.

The Chamber has announced a major change to this year’s format with not one, but two, equal prizes in 2 categories:

  • Elders Insurance North Lakes Best Lights Display for a business of 5 or less staff (including owners)
  • Samford Grove Retirement Village Best Lights Display for a business of 6 or more staff (including owners)

As in previous years, the Chamber hopes that the Chamber Lights Display Competition winners may donate their winnings to local community organisations.

The Chamber of Commerce is seeking as much local business support as possible, as well as encouraging business houses to not just decorate outside, but also decorate their shop interiors to ensure a Samford Valley Christmas experience day and night.

The Chamber is hopeful that the 2020 Samford Valley Christmas Lights will “come alive” from November 1st onwards as business owners keep the Lights on all the way through to Christmas Eve so that the local community can get to share the atmosphere.

Winners will be announced in the 11th December edition of the Village Pump
